Philip S. Beacham, Jr., 93, of Westminster


Philip S. Beacham, Jr., 93, of Westminster, died Monday, Feb. 16, 2015, at the Dove House. Born April 21, 1921 in Westminster, he was the son of the late Philip S. Beacham, Sr. and Ora Turfle Beacham.


His wife of 71 years, Virginia May “Ginny” Beacham died July 14, 2014.

Before retiring, he was a farmer, landscaper and caretaker at Meadow Branch Cemetery for over 50 years.

He enjoyed duck pin bowling, gardening, fishing, hunting, camping and going to Chincoteague Island.

He is survived by children Philip S. Beacham III and wife Ida of New Windsor, Douglas W. Beacham, Sr. and wife Dolly of Hereford, Pa., Allan D. Beacham, Sr. and wife Kathy of Westminster, Michael L. Beacham, Sr. and wife Ann of Taneytown and Lindora B. Bowers and friend John Hitzelberger of Manchester, sisters Elizabeth Brauning, Gene Royer, Nellie Roch and a brother Jimmy Beacham. Also survived by 15 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a sister Ann Caulford.

Private graveside services will be held at Meadow Branch Cemetery at a later date.
