Condemnations of The New York Times antisemitic cartoon

Condemnations of The New York Times antisemitic cartoon

Hat tip: Julie Lenarz, “If an openly anti-Semitic cartoon makes it into the international edition of @nytimes, you know how far Jew-hate has creeped back into the mainstream. This cartoon was handpicked, signed off, published. Not an honest mistake.”

Jerusalem Post Diaspora: FLOOD OF CONDEMNATIONS OF NEW YORK TIMES FOR ANTISEMITIC CARTOON

Congressmen join former ambassador to Israel and journalists in slamming the newspaper.

BY SETH J. FRANTZMAN   APRIL 29, 2019

Condemnations of The New York Times increased over the weekend after the paper’s international edition published an antisemitic cartoon. The offensive image was of a blind US President Donald Trump wearing a yarmulke, being walked by a dog with the face of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and wearing a Star of David collar. Despite the paper calling it an “error of judgment” to publish it, congressmen and Jewish organizations joined the chorus of outrage.

President Obama: The sky is falling March 13, 2013 by Kevin E. Dayhoff

Almost two weeks have gone by since the so-called “sequester” of the federal budget went into effect and all indications lead us to believe that the Zombie Apocalypse has not happened. Nor has it otherwise resulted in the end of the world as we know it.

Remember the sequester? It was the key and critical provision of the Budget Control Act of 2011, which took effect on March 1.

According to Dylan Matthews on March 1, 2013, in The Washington Post:

“The 2013 sequester includes: $42.7 billion in defense cuts (a 7.9 percent cut); $28.7 billion in domestic discretionary cuts (a 5.3 percent cut); $9.9 billion in Medicare cuts (a 2 percent cut); $4 billion in other mandatory cuts (a 5.8 percent cut to nondefense programs, and a 7.8 percent cut to mandatory defense programs).”

According to a number of astute political observers, including Chris Cillizza, also of The Washington Post, the sequester may very well have been over-hyped by a president who is not used to media scrutiny.

Mr. Cillizza wrote in “Did President Obama cry wolf on the sequester,” “In the days leading up to the March 1 sequester deadline, dire warnings about its impact were being issued daily from President Obama. Lines at airports would be interminable. First responders would be compromised. Things would be, in a word, bad.”

At my advanced age, I can easily recognize political silliness when I see it.

According to Media Research Center’s Brent Baker, who wrote in an article titled, “Krauthammer: Obama on Charm Offensive Because ‘Media Could No Longer Cover for Him,’” “Charles Krauthammer credited President Obama’s charm offensive toward Republicans to his losing the news media which couldn’t any longer abide his ridiculous sequester ‘cut’ exaggerations.

Mr. Baker is the vice president for Research and Publications at the Media Research Center, a conservative media watchdog organization and think tank.

President Obama’s strongest constituency, which, according to Dr., Krauthammer, “is not the left, it’s the mainstream media, could no longer cover for him without being entirely embarrassed,” Krauthammer observed last Friday night on the Fox News Channel, “It had to expose the one exaggeration after another on the sequester.”

Dr. Krauthammer went on to observe that … http://www.thetentacle.com/ShowArticle.cfm?mydocid=5670

Is the media piling on Romney? September 26, 2012 by Kevin E. Dayhoff

Howard Kurtz, the host of the weekly CNN program Reliable Sources, tweeted last Sunday: “I'm at CNN and about to ask whether the media are piling on Romney.”

Well, duh. Is a school bus yellow? Of course, the media is piling on Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, the former Massachusetts governor.

We are currently a witness to history. We are spectators to a presidential election this November that still has all the hallmarks of potentially being stolen by the media. We are witnessing a coup d’état by the elite-progressive press, if you will.

“The weird ecstasy of the media-political complex at the Democratic Party convention in Charlotte last month was the first sign that its attachment to President Barack Obama, always fawning, had become morbid,” wrote Michael Knox Beran in National Review Online on September 17.

How Republics Fall” – The Fourth Estate’s degrading hero worship trivializes an election” – was called to my attention by political writer Steve Berryman. It is an erudite, but scathing, review of the media’s active participation in the presidential campaign.

“In spite of the anemic economy and a real unemployment rate above 11 percent, the high priests of pontificating liberalism were giddy with euphoria. The Democrats ‘put on a nearly flawless convention,’ Paul Begala opined, and it was soon all but incontrovertibly established that, come November, the president — beautiful, magical, and lovable as he was — would vanquish his boring opponent.”

And then there is a story about overt media bias witnessed by Maryland State Sen. Joe Getty (R., Carroll/Baltimore) at the Republican National Convention in Tampa. Senator Getty communicated his first-person witness to blatant media bias at a pre-election breakfast September 20, in Westminster… http://www.thetentacle.com/ShowArticle.cfm?mydocid=5361

Joe Peyronnin – Huffington Post: Romney's Veep-Stakes

Romney's Veep-Stakes

Joe Peyronnin NYU Journalism Professor 04/ 2/2012

More leading Republicans are getting on the Romney bandwagon each day in hopes of ending the divisiveness that has characterized much of the Republican primary campaign so far. Even after all of their harsh criticisms, former Senator Rick Santorum and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich have each said they will support Romney if he ends up getting the party's nomination. But they both, along with Representative Ron Paul, are still campaigning to be their party's standard-bearer.

Rick Santorum shows no signs of easing up. On Sunday, he compared Romney to Senator John McCain, who lost the 2008 election to President Barack Obama. "We came up with someone who wasn't able to win, "Santorum said on Fox News Sunday. "We don't need to repeat that again…
