Westminster Fire Dept. and Md. State Police respond to single vehicle accident west of Westminster.

Monday evening, Feb. 27, 2017, at approx. 8:36 p.m., units from Westminster Vol. Fire Dept. were alerted to respond to an accident at Rte. 140 and Rte. 97 north - Littlestown Pike. Upon arrival they found a single vehicle accident into the guard rail in the eastbound lane of Rte. 140. After exracation a single patient was transported by Medic 39 to Shock Trauma. Accident remains under investigation by the Md State Police. No first responders were hurt in the response.

New Windsor State Bank is the only locally owned and operated bank in Carroll County, according to Kevin E. Dayhoff, a director with Penn Mar who also is a Westminster city councilman.

The bank's board of directors have raised $1 million to fund the bank. They hope that a stock offering will raise an additional $5 million.

Seeking to provide personalized banking services to Carroll County customers, a group of area businessmen are working to establish a community bank in Westminster.

Penn Mar Bancshares Inc. recently received approval from the Securities and Exchange Commission to open Penn Mar Community Bank. Work has begun on the 4,500-square-foot building at Clifton Boulevard and Woodward Road.

Weekend Worship This coming Sunday we conclude the time after Epiphany by celebrating the Transfiguration of our Lord, when Jesus went up a mountain and showed himself to be divine. Then next Wednesday we observe Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent, as Jesus walks up another mountain and shows himself to be human. Come to worship, to praise this Jesus Christ, to hear him speak, and to partake of his body.   Worship Services at Grace this weekend include: Saturday at 5:00; Sunday at 7:45, 9:00 and 11:15   The Children’s Chorus of Carroll County will be singing at the 11:15 service.   We hope to see you at worship this weekend.
