William Winchester Elementary School Westminster Md

- I had a cup of coffee with some fantastic local community leaders this morning as we waited to be assigned to our rooms by Beverly Jane Humbert of the Women' Club of Westminster, and the staff of William Winchester Elementary School; to read Dr. Seuss books.

From left to right, Lynn Wheeler, the exe. dir. of the Carroll County Public Library, Steve Guthrie, superintendent of Carroll County Public Schools, longstanding Westminster council member and former Westminster common council president Dr. Bob Wack, local business owner and artist, Lyndi McNulty, and Kevin Dayhoff. Monday morning, March 6, 2017 at William Winchester Elementary School, on the old Albaugh and Babylon Farm in Westminster.

The GFWC Woman's Club of Westminster, along with other civic organizations, community leaders and businesses, annually promote literacy and encourage reading in honor of Dr. Seuss' birthday.

According to Jackie Hering, education department chairperson of the Woman's Club of Westminster, and chair of the event, "It's wonderful to see the children's faces light up when you sit down to read to them."

Thinking of Guy Garheart while watching "Emergency" with Mom. "Roger that Rampart. Squad 51 calling Rampart. 10-4 Rampart" 7Mar2017. Mom watches it every day out of respect to Uncle Wilbur, who volunteered for The Westminster Vol. Fire Dept. for perhaps 60 years. I am trying to figure out which character is playing Guy... Or Max, Kim, or Jason

Sunday church service at Grace Lutheran Church in Westminster - the first Sunday in Lent. www.gracelc.org

Sunday church service at Grace Lutheran Church in Westminster - the first Sunday in Lent.  www.gracelc.org A welcome and necessary brief break in the never-ending war against hunger, poverty, the intellectually stunted and the artistry disinclined. 4March2017

Pastor Kevin Clementson spoke to us about the expectations of having a life in Christ. In a message that highlights "This is not what I signed-up for," he shared that sometimes in our walk of faith, we are tempted and things do not go as planned. The hope for a perfect life often leads to disappointment.

This reinforces one of my foundation beliefs that our success in life greatly depends on how we respond positively to setbacks and  dissapointment.
