Westminster Police Investigate Fatal Shooting

On March 16, 2012 at approximately 11:45 a.m. police officers and emergency medical personnel responded to a residence in the 400 block of South Hills Court in Westminster for the report of a shooting.

Upon arrival they found a male on the first floor of the home suffering from a single gunshot wound. The victim was alert and conscious at the time. He was transported by EMS staff to the University Of Maryland Shock Trauma Center where he died during surgery.

The victim has been identified as Vygants Tomas Campe (46 years of age) of Hanover, MD.

Investigators have determined that the victim was visiting with the owner of the residence at the time of the shooting.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the home owner was handling a pistol on the second floor of the home when it discharged. It appears that the projectile passed through the floor and struck the victim who was lying on the couch in the living room.

No charges have been placed at this time and the investigation is ongoing. Investigators are conferring with representatives of the Carroll County State’s Attorney’s Office.

Local Carroll County real estate agent celebrates 9 years in the real estate business.

Local Carroll County real estate agent celebrates 9 years in the real estate business.

Friday, March 16, 2013

Earlier today I heard from a fellow fire fighter and good friend, Chris Cull, who for a number of years has been in the real estate business with Coldwell Banker.

I’ve known Chris for many-many years and all of my dealings with Chris have been first-rate…

Chris’ correspondence:

Cell 443-744-2623

Fax 410-876-2662

As I start into my 9th year in the business I am reflecting on what has worked for me so far as well what I expect will help grow my business in the future.

In a referral-based industry, such as real estate, there is no larger contributor to success than the people you know.

I just wanted to send a quick THANK YOU to everyone who helped build my business over the past 9 years and I hope I can count on you for many more years to come.

Lonely is the runner who runs in the March cold at McDaniel College Gill Stadium

Say NO to phone books

Say NO to phone books

March 14, 2013

What will it take to stop the publishers of “yellowbook” to stop littering my front yard with its unwanted phone directory delivery?

Getting junk mail-spammers to stop delivering unwanted mail, marketing and promotional materials is so incredible hard…

I just had to go out in my front yard and remove a large piece of trash. Guess what, it was a phone directory.

I have called, sent letters, faxed letters, and e-mailed various companies for quite a number of years to get them to stop littering my yard with trash and yet the problem continues.

On September 13, 2012, I registered with the “National Yellow Pages Consumer Choice and Opt-out Site,” www.yellowpagesoptout.com, to stop delivery of the unwanted phone directories, including the Westminster Carroll County directory that I received today on March 14, 2013.

The directory only made it in my house long enough for me to double-check the opt-out information.

The directory will now immediately go into the recycling bin.

You know, I cannot just drive by the homes of the folks involved with “yellowbook” and throw unwanted materials on their property. I would be arrested.

I wish the phone directory publishers would stop throwing trash throughout the community. It accumulates in the roadways, on sidewalks and the gutters, on private property and public parks. It is wrong.

As much as I dislike nanny-state government; I almost wish the city would pass an ordinance prohibiting the practice of distributing unwanted and unsolicited trash on properties throughout the city.

I’m just saying…
